What kind of photographer are you? My work has been described as organic, natural, and sentimental with a fine art quality. I combine traditional and documentary photography along with portraiture to capture genuine images for you to treasure for a lifetime. Imagine your family as fine art. As your photographer, I will provide a generous gallery of images that can be displayed in your home as pieces of art or archived in a custom album to be treasured for generations. These photographs will be an investment in your family history. Images from your session often tell a story, capturing a treasured moment in time. I do not try to make you look perfect, stiff, or unnatural. I am not after that "one" shot with everyone looking at the camera and smiling. Sure, we may get some with everyone looking and smiling, but I promise if we do, it will be because it happened naturally, not because it was forced.
Where will my session be held? I am a natural light, on location photographer. If we are shooting in your home, I prefer late morning, because that is when homes are usually lit up the best. If we are shooting outdoors, we will shoot either in the morning or in the evening. The light is typically too harsh mid-day. If your children are up for it, shooting one to two hours before sunset provides gorgeous light and atmosphere. The images in my portfolio look the way they do largely because of my use of light and the time of day your session takes place has a huge impact. Many families tell me that they simply have the kids take a late nap or have some downtime prior to their evening session. Newborn sessions are held at your home.
What if my child gets sick on the day of the photoshoot, will I get the chance to reschedule? Absolutely! We will reschedule with no additional charge. Although I will reschedule only once.
Can I cancel my photoshoot? Yes, although the session fee is not refundable. If you want to postponed and not lose the session fee payment you must do 1 week before the day of your photoshoot. Although I will reschedule only once. If you want to postpone for the second time you must pay the session fee again.
How long will my session be? My family portrait sessions rarely last more than 1 hour and 30 min. I can easily get a diverse and adequate gallery in that time. Do not worry I won’t rush through the session.
What should I wear? See my PINTEREST 1 AND PINTEREST 2 boards for ideas on what to wear. Be comfortable, be yourself.
Will I get the digital photos from my session? An average of 50+ digitals files will be available to you (but usually there are more!), in color and some black and white delivered via direct download and a print release. You will also have the option to buy additional prints and boutique products.
When am I going to get the viewing gallery: within 3 weeks from the day of your photoshoot.
How long do I have to choose the pictures from my gallery? After I release your gallery, you will have 5 days to choose your images and pay for them. Please check the INVESTMENTsection on my page to choose your package. After 5 days your gallery will be available for download for 1 more week and will be taken down automatically on the 7th day. There will be a $50.00 fee to reactivate.
When and how do I make the payment? The session fee is paid when booking via PayPal, cash or check (mail). The packages must be chosen and paid within a week after I release the gallery Via PayPal, cash or check (mail). A payment plan is available for packages II, III and IV.
If I asked you, would you make me look slimmer in Photoshop? No, this is not cohesive to my brand. I am all about embracing who you and your family are at that moment of your life. My editing style is effortless. I will do pose my clients in flattering ways to look their best.
How do you choose which images in my gallery from our shoot? I look at each image I capture at your session and hand select the best images. I am looking for images that represent me as an artist and your family, as each is radically unique.
Do you offer mini sessions? No, mini-sessions are not conducive to my style. Like I said, I am not after that one great shot but rather a collection of images for lifelong appreciation. I might occasionally offer mini sessions for holiday or limited edition type of photo session.
